Anna Speer is a figurative painter who was born and raised in Tampa and graduated from Florida State University in 2025, earning a BFA in studio art. She now creates work in her studio at Kress Contemporary in Ybor City. Speer’s atmospheric oil paintings often depict scenes that are just slightly familiar, creating conversations between memories and imagined scenes. Oftentimes, Speer takes inspiration from her Florida upbringing, creating surreal compositions from the spaces that have left an impression on her.
