The "Ybor Ad Hoc Arts Group" is a small group of arts enthusiasts/leaders who like to meet once a month to compare notes on arts issues, discuss creative ideas and to brainstorm ideas that should be produced to activate creativity in our community.

Borrowed Traces multi-space exhibition
Borrowed Traces is a multi-spaced exhibition featuring the work of Diana Sosnowska and Brogan Willis. Each artist focuses on ephemerality and explores their understanding of Florida's changing political, social, and cultural shifts. Informed by the Indigenous epistemologies of adaptation, movement, and innovation and co-curated by Dakota Mace (Diné), they look through their communities, histories, and relationship to their environments to understand how materiality and process inform their relationship to place and memory.

A Titanic Double Feature at Fringe Theatre
This double-feature begins with the 60 minute show Mrs. Bliss's Titanic Adventure by reknowned Bay area performer Bridget Bean, followed by an intermission, and then the hilarious A One Woman Titanic Parody In 59 Minutes Or Less from Orlando by Katie Thayer. Both shows have won awards at the Fringe Festival, so this promises to be a delightful celebration of one of the most famous moments in history.

Go Ahead, Buy Some Art: The Design Edition
Tempus Projects is excited to announce the fourth installment of its lecture series, “Go Ahead, Buy Some Art,” featuring a panel discussion in partnership with TampaBay Community Design Center on April 9, 2025, at 6 PM. (Refreshments at 6 pm -discussion at 7 pm). This event aims to foster the growth and development of Tampa’s collector base through insightful dialogue with panelists Kaylin Price, John Byrd, Gary Schmitt, and Kathleen Bly, moderated by Linda Saul-Sena.

Weave A Tale: Misako Nakahira at OXH Gallery
OXH GALLERY is pleased to present Weave a Tale featuring the “Crossing” and “Interaction” series by Misako Nakahira. The Japanese textile artists’s work reflects her desire to express not only the layering of lines and colors but also the relationships between people and objects. Like towels swaying in the wind, these relationships are fluid, dynamic, and ever-changing.

Playa Society's Women's Basketball Pop Up
Playa Society hosts a pop-up merch shop and art gallery at Kress Contemporary while the NCAA Women’s Final Four is in Tampa, April 3-5. The Boston-based streetwear brand, founded by designer and retired baller Esther Wallace in 2018, specializes in design and storytelling for women’s sports like the WNBA and NCAA.

Lance Rothstein’s Collage Clique Tampa Bay returns to Kress Contemporary for another meet-up and cut-up. The group has gathered at various Tampa Bay area locations since January 2023 to nerd out over ephemera, scissors and glue. Join them at this free collage meetup and get a preview of Carissa Heinrichs’ upcoming 2-day workshop, “Introduction to Collagraph Printing.” All supplies provided, but feel free to bring your own or some to share.

EDGE: Recent works by Neil Bender
Neil Bender makes paintings and collages that probe fluid practices of gender and sexuality. He recasts imagery exploited by popular culture with seductive surfaces and color in order to form a new interface for open dialogue or experience. With humor as a starting point, Bender’s work aims to alleviate the anxiety of desire and fulfill fetishes and fantasies.
