Exploring transformation, abstraction, and the shifting nature of the body, Terrain presents new work by MFA students Sabrina Barilone and Josepha Yague at Reverb Gallery.
Through painting and sculpture, the exhibition explores the intersection of the physical body and form—its face, contours, internal structure, and relationship to surrounding environments. Rather than presenting the body as fixed or naturalistic, both artists deconstruct and reimagine bodily forms through their own visual language, placing them within imagined spaces shaped by nature, geometry, and fictitious atmospheres.
Using traditional media to investigate abstraction and transformation, Terrain considers what remains once the body is pushed, bent, fragmented, and reconstructed. Together, the works invite viewers into a space of wonder, recognition, memory, and ambiguity.
Reception Thursday, May 21, 6–9 PM
