This group exhibition, curated by HCC Arts Director Amanda Poss, brings together recent work by 15 studio artists working out of Kress Contemporary in the heart of Ybor City.

Featuring Karol Batansky, Marc Brechwald, Ashley Cantero, Dave Decker, Elizabeth Fontaine-Barr, Eileen Goldenberg, Mary-Helen Horne, Sarah Hull, Chase Parker, Carlos Pons, Kim Radatz, Lisa Ramudo, Lynn Rattray, Marilyn Silverman, and Jessica Veguez, Currents captures a snapshot of this moment—who is here, what they’re making, and what their work is responding to, personally, locally and nationally.

Rather than striving for cohesion, the exhibition embraces the vibrant diversity of Ybor’s creative community. The result is a dynamic, multifaceted portrait of artistic production at Kress today—varied in medium, message, and perspective.

As Ybor City’s art scene reaches critical mass, Currents offers an essential introduction to the artists shaping this cultural moment.
