Participants are invited to join printmaker Carissa Heinrichs at Kress Contemporary’s Kress Press on Sunday July 13th for a monoprint workshop.
Monoprints are unique, one-of-a-kind impressions with impermanent blocks and ink application.
The workshop will explore a variety of methods to transfer ink between surfaces and experiment with an array of materials, forms, and mark-making.
Participants will also learn the basics of relief printing, embossment, ghost prints, and ink modifications.
Monoprinting is a very flexible and expansive process that is open to first-time print participants and experienced artists looking to examine more possibilities to integrate into their practice.
Premade collagraph boards and materials will be available for printing as well.
Necessary workshop supplies will be provided, though participants are welcome to bring printing papers, brushes, and soft collage materials of their own as well.
