Artist Mike Cannata, a current MFA candidate at the University of South Florida, presents a solo exhibition at REVERB Gallery that unites painting and ceramics to explore the sensory interplay of color, texture, and perception. Through vibrant surfaces and tactile forms, Cannata’s work invites viewers into a world where the boundaries between seeing, touching, and feeling dissolve.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Cannata holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He has participated in several prestigious residencies, including a long-term program at the Morean Center for Clay (2021–2023), two residencies at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark (2020), and a month-long residency at Red Lodge Clay Center. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Denmark, Russia, South Korea, and Romania.
