Literary Arts
Literary arts collectives provide a platform for the talented writers of the Tampa Bay region at Kress Contemporary, engaging the community with workshops, guest artists, and regular literary arts events.
The GrowHouse Collective
The GrowHouse Collective is a group of Spoken Word Artists that work together to organize and facilitate community events as well as spread brand awareness. The Collective was formed in 2022 when founders Curtis Davis and Dennis Amadeus realized they needed assistance with running events as the GH platform was growing. The Collective is made up of poets that willingly helped out without ever being asked to, some started as just patrons of GH and now host events of their own! We currently are not looking to add additional members but rather are focusing on building the budding community that supports us. If you are looking to get more involved, please join our Discord!
Heard 'Em Say Youth Arts Collective
Heard 'Em Say Youth Arts Collective was established in May 2007, by founder Walter "Wally B" Jennings, to identify, cultivate, and empower young people in activism and advocacy through artistic education and expression. Our programs serve youth ages 19 and younger, with special focus on middle and high school age youth.
Kitchen Table Literary Arts
Kitchen Table Literary Arts Center builds awareness, appreciation, and support for Black women, women of color, and BIPOC queer writers, poets, and their work. In addition to our inclusive literary arts education outreach across communities, we also offer in-person and online workshops, classes, and retreat opportunities exclusively for BIPOC women and queer writers and poets.
