Dave Decker Photography
Dave Decker has made a name for himself as a prominent photographer in the Tampa Bay area over the past two years. His ability to capture the essence of his surroundings through his lens has brought Creative Loafing readers directly into his world. From documenting street protests and community events to showcasing the vibrant energy of Tampa Bay, Decker's photographs offer a unique and captivating perspective on our beloved region. Recently, Decker has taken his craft further by opening his own studio in historic Ybor City, solidifying his presence in the local creative scene.
Department of Contemporary Art Tampa, FL
Department of Contemporary Art Tampa, FL is the living room of art and culture in Tampa Bay. A multidisciplinary exhibition, critique, performance, and discussion space, DoCA Tampa, FL is a resource for artists across media, an incubator of new ideas, and a nexus of Tampa's cultural avant-garde. Director and Curator Emiliano Settecasi is motivated by a desire to showcase the strength and diversity of artists in the region, to foster unity and solidarity among artists of all disciplines, and to harness their creative potential to establish Tampa Bay as a driver of international cultural discourse.
Drift
Drift is an exciting curator series operated by Tempus Projects at the Kress Contemporary complex in Ybor City. This unique program aims to create opportunities for independent curators who may not have a physical gallery space, fostering and nurturing their talent. Drift also extends its support to mid-career curators, providing a platform for their special projects. By embracing a diverse range of curatorial perspectives, Drift showcases a dynamic and thought-provoking selection of exhibitions, contributing to the thriving art scene in Ybor City. This series is an essential component of Tempus Projects' commitment to cultivating and promoting emerging and established curatorial voices in the contemporary art world.
Florida Museum of Photographic Arts
The FLORIDA MUSEUM of PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS is a museum dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture. FMoPA collects, preserves, and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists. FMoPA also enriches the community by operating outreach programs to educate children and adults.
JZ Atelier
Samantha Uttech graduated with a degree of business administration. She worked 8 years in international corporations for third party engineering consultancy and For the European Union delegation Small, medium enterprise center. Late 2012 she took a career change based on the passion for fine jewelry design and handcrafted fabrication. She studied in the CAFA (the Central Academy of Fine Art) for two years for fine jewelry design and fabrication. Later did 6 month apprenticeship with a French fine jewelry designer and artist. Every year she goes to different places in different countries for skills training such as goldsmith and traditional French enameling. In 2015 Samantha opened her own jewelry design studio to public and offering jewelry design classes as a platform to help others who share the same passion.
Parachute Gallery
Parachute Gallery is an exhibition and micro-retail space with a focus on Crafts media in the Historic Ybor City Kress building in Tampa, Florida. Parachute Gallery aims to amplify the voices of artists from a diversity of backgrounds, elevate Crafts media, highlight underrepresented regional and national artists, and obliterate historical art hierarchies.

QUAID Gallery
QUAID is an artist cooperative art gallery located in Tampa, FL. QUAID was founded in 2014 by members of the Tampa Drawers Sketch Gang, a group of Tampa artists who met weekly at various locations to collaborate and draw. The project has since expanded to a permanent location with a focus on contemporary artists creating mixed media exhibitions. In addition to monthly curatorial projects, QUAID hosts a variety of events including first Fridays, literature readings, drawing nights, and film screenings. Gallery programs are curated and implemented by cooperative members who are all artists working in Tampa.
Screen Door Microcinema
Screen Door is a microcinema located on 7th ave in historic Ybor City, dedicated to building community through visionary moving-image work of all kinds. Since our opening in October of 2022, we have shown over 150 programs of arthouse, cult, experimental, documentary, action, horror, LGBTQIA+, animation, kids films, Underground, and dozens of films from an array of foreign countries.
Tempus Projects
TEMPUS PROJECTS is dedicated to nurturing established and emerging local, national, and international artists through exhibitions, collaborations, residencies, and events. Our non-profit organization promotes artists working in all media, and originates, organizes, and hosts exhibitions that engage the Tampa Bay community through the arts. Our vision is to foster a vibrant and critical arts nexus that connects grassroots efforts to an international arts dialogue through innovative, equitable programming. We hope you will join us!
Tempus Projects Artist Residency Program
In our continuing effort to foster and develop arts in the Tampa Bay area, Tempus Projects established an Artist Residency Program in 2016. This program allows for a collaborative exchange between the Tampa Bay arts community and visiting artists from across the country and beyond. Invited artists receive a stipend and reside in a fully furnished live/work apartment located above our gallery for one-month. Artists are provided space and access to tools to create a series of artworks, curate an exhibition, or conduct research. Every artist is given opportunities to interact with local artists and our welcoming artistic community. Following their month-long residence, artists have the opportunity to install a one-month solo exhibition in our gallery space. Tempus funds this exhibition, including an opening reception with the artist.

TEMPUS VOLTA, situated in Ybor City’s Kress Contemporary facility, is operated by the nonprofit organization Tempus Projects. Serving as a project space, it offers a dynamic platform for artistic experimentation and showcases a diverse range of special projects, small group shows, and solo exhibitions. With a focus on supporting early to mid-career artists, TEMPUS VOLTA provides a nurturing environment where creative voices and ideas can excel and flourish.
