Tempus Projects' ALL IN: George Anderton, Works from North A
AUGUST 14 – SEPTEMBER 18, 2025
Reception: Friday, September 5, 7-9 p.m. (Corporate Sponsors & Members 6 p.m.)
Trained in London and Budapest, George Anderton has cultivated a rich and enduring studio practice in Tampa for more than 30 years. ALL IN features a compelling selection of paintings, drawings, collages, and sculpture that illuminate the artist’s exploration of the often paradoxical relationship between traditional representation and expressive abstraction.
Organized by José Gelats and Kathy Gibson, the exhibition highlights both recent and rarely seen works—many being exhibited for the first time in Tampa Bay. The presentation offers a unique glimpse into Anderton’s evolving visual language, marked by an intuitive yet deliberate approach that bridges formal rigor and emotional resonance.
Anderton’s work has been exhibited extensively throughout the region, with solo and group exhibitions at TECO Energy Gallery, Quaid, Box on 5th, Gallery 221 at Hillsborough Community College, ArtHouse3, and previous presentations at Tempus Projects. His works are included in numerous private collections in the U.S. and Europe, and held in public collections such as Tampa General Hospital, Neiman Marcus, and Hillsborough Community College.
ALL IN affirms Anderton’s continued relevance and commitment to a deeply personal yet generative form of artmaking—one that resists simple categorization and embraces the tensions that make contemporary art vital.
